Human interaction

If the mountain cannot come to Muhammad...

Not that I am Muhammad, and not that Russell Bedford's firm in Hong Kong is a mountain, but this was my 4th & penultimate stop-off on my way to our APAC meeting, and my point being that the benefits of belonging to an international network do not always flow down to every team member of an accounting practice. It is often only the senior partners who get to travel and come to the conferences. The whole team cannot all come to us, and so it was my pleasure to go to them.

I was delighted that the management team had allowed time for their whole office to break away from their work and listen to my presentation on the values of belonging to Russell Bedford International. These are the people "on the ground", often spending time at clients' offices and hence their firm's membership of an international network needs to be understood, so they can look to promote their international exposure when discussing matters with international businesses.

Again, human interaction & the opportunity to meet face to face with the entire staff of our Hong Kong member's office, was both a pleasure and indeed, in my opinion, a necessity for enhancing the message that any growing accountancy practice needs to have a global presence.
